Anyone interested in playing in the BESM game i want to ST now that my DB game has all but croaked may raise their hand now, but if it's going to be along the lines i've been hearing lately about "So and so's starting a blankety-blank game, and Mr. Man and i are going to get in on it and make him suffer," then you can just forget about it. The game is going to be SF themed, and it promises to be at least interesting, if not amazing, depending on your level of background.

Science Fiction. Or maybe it's San Francisco...

It's Science Fiction (Although that's a genre that does include San Francisco, i think); more specifically, Frank Herbert's Dune. i've been wanting to do it for a while now, and sitting on dunes for the last month was the final impetus. If enough people are interested, i'll start passing out class templates, then i'll work out a story from who's playing what. If you're not sure, read the book, Dune by Frank Herbert, it's only like 250 pages or something, it's completely doable in a couple evenings, since it tends to grab the attention. Otherwise, the recent Made for TV movie release (Not the old one, with Sting) is very good as well, incredible effects and imagery, but frankly, it'll take longer to watch than reading the book, and you'll miss a lot of incredible narrative. The game can be played even if you have no background at all, but it might seem frustrating when you're interacting with people like Lenny, Brian and Cody in game, who've all read the first books. Again, let me know, guys.

Intriguing, for sure. Knowing what we're playing is a definite plus... have to go dig up the novel and start rereading the book and finish it this time.
